Unlocking the Power of the Full Moon

Just like a seed, the moon goes through its own phases of birth, bloom, and rest. With each cycle, there's a fresh chance for personal growth. These phases reflect our deepest desires and give us a unique opportunity to dive into our inner world.

By tuning into the moon's rhythms, we can deepen our understanding of ourselves and strengthen our most important relationship: the one with ourselves. This connection doesn't just help us figure out who we are; it also allows us to tap into the moon's powerful energy. The moon's feminine, creative, and ever-changing vibes can transform how we relate to both ourselves and the natural world around us.

The Buck Eye full moon is on July 21 in the western hemisphere and we are going to talk about how to work with the full moon to start a lunar practice. Many people will tell you to start on the New Moon but I believe that working with the full moon first can make working with the lunar cycles a little easier. The full moon's energy is powerful and in abundance. Let's talk about what the full moon phase is.

Full Moon

It is the ideal time to revisit your intentions and see how far you have come.  If you have been working on specific goals or new habits this is when you do a check-in and ask yourself if they still align with you and remind yourself of WHY you are taking on these goals or habits. It's the perfect time to self-reflect.

Let go of things that no longer serve you any purpose, and hold on to something that complements your personal and goal growth.  In this phase, celebrate yourself and your life as it is, and indulge in activities that comfort you, support you, and energize you for the future phases.

You might feel overwhelmed with intensified emotions. Try to divert your energy into your growth rather than reacting to your feelings.  Journaling or something creative is one of the best ways to divert your energy. Others find cleaning on the full moon very gratifying, (I am not one of those people.) :)

Before we list out the tips for working with the full moon energy, I want to remind everyone to drink lots of water during the full moon. Remember the moon runs the tides of the oceans and humans are about 60% water which means the moon phases can impact the actual chemistry of our body, seriously Google it, it's fascinating. Now let's talk about working WITH the moon's energy.

Working with the full moon can be a powerful and transformative experience. Here are some tips to help you harness its energy:

1. Set Intentions

  • Reflect and Write: Take time to reflect on your goals and desires. Write them down to set clear intentions.

  • Visualize: Picture your intentions manifesting. Use visualization to reinforce your goals.

2. Perform a Full Moon Ritual

  • Cleansing: Cleanse your space and yourself with sage, palo santo, or other cleansing tools.

  • Meditation: Meditate under the moonlight to connect with its energy and enhance your intuition.

  • Charge Crystals: Place your crystals under the moonlight to cleanse and recharge them.

3. Release and Let Go

  • Burning Ceremony: Write down what no longer serves you and safely burn the paper to release it.

  • Forgiveness Practice: Practice self-forgiveness and forgive others to free yourself from emotional burdens.

4. Connect with Nature

  • Moon Bathing: Spend time outside under the moonlight to absorb its energy.

  • Grounding: Walk barefoot on the earth to connect with nature and balance your energy.

5. Practice Gratitude

  • Gratitude List: Write a list of things you are grateful for to cultivate a positive mindset and attract more abundance.

6. Self-Care

  • Rest and Relax: Take time for self-care and relaxation. The full moon can be intense, so listen to your body and give yourself the rest you need.

By incorporating these practices, you can make the most of the full moon's energy and support your personal growth and transformation.
